終戦記念日


昭和１８年（１９４３）
１１月５日
午後６時１０分ごろ、米潜水艦１隻によって小米港約２キロの沖合より
子米市街地へ２０数発の砲撃があり、即死１人、負傷１人、被害家屋４棟
に及んだ、これが沖永良部での最初の敵襲である。その為七日まで灯下官
制をし、海上警戒を厳にした。（和泊町誌　歴史編から転載）
